After fulfilling a lifelong dream to see My Chemical Romance perform in person, I had the idea, "What if we cosplayed as their Killjoys personas, but made it comfy?" and this project was born. Over the better part of a year, and after way too many viewings of the NaNaNa music video, the four of us created these kirigurumis with matching sleep masks. Design and construction were both collaborative, while I handled technical aspects like pattern drafting and teaching the others sewing techniques. Once sewing was complete, we took photos that imitated the band's official photos, and I edited together posters and a reel for Instagram. And yes, the kirigurumis turned out incredibly comfortable.
